Head-to-head comparisons of mobile apps.
Two apps at a time, put against each other on the same tasks, ending in a stated verdict — not a directory of listings with a description under each one.
This site is not live yet. Nothing has been published, and there is nothing here to read. This page exists to describe what AppMatchup will be.
The shape of a comparison
Side A
Side B
Schematic only. The labels are placeholders — no comparison has been written.
What makes it different
Two, not twenty
A comparison names two apps and runs them against each other. It is not a ranked list, and it is not a roundup of every app in a category with a paragraph under each.
A verdict, stated
Each comparison will end by naming which of the two we would pick and who we would pick it for. Where the answer genuinely splits by use case, it will say which use case goes which way rather than stopping at “it depends.”
Same page, both sides
Both apps are covered in one document, against the same set of tasks, so the two columns are actually comparable to each other.
Ownership disclosure
AppMatchup is operated by Fogarty Holdings LLC.
Fogarty Holdings LLC publishes its own iOS apps. Some comparisons on this site will include one of those apps.
When a comparison includes an app published by Fogarty Holdings LLC, that fact will be labeled on the comparison page itself — visibly, next to the app it concerns — and not left to this page alone to disclose.
